From the President

A Message from the SJC Alumnae President

Dear Alumnae of Saint Joseph College:

Your Alumnae Association is diligently striving to fulfill its mission of encouraging the philanthropic, spiritual and social interests of our membership. We continue to fund scholarships to Mother Seton School in Emmitsburg, contribute to The Seton Center, and to provide other much needed support to those in the Valley who need our assistance. We are always on the lookout for ideas about how we can best continue our giving programs.

We also faithfully remember the joyous occasion of your birthdays with special Masses at the Basilica of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and remember our deceased Alumnae and their families with Masses and prayers coordinated with the Provincial House. In addition, we continually endeavor to encourage all classes to return to the Valley for our annual Reunions to rekindle friendships and recall fond memories. Our mission also includes keeping you all well connected via The Valley Echo and our very informative website, www.sjcalumnae.org.

Your association continues to strengthen its purpose, and we want each of you to be a viable part of itbecause it is your association. Please join us in this effort. As you know, dues are the lifeblood of our organization. They enable us to retain a part-time Executive Administrator, Judy Dwyer Brennan ’64, produce The Valley Echo, maintain the website, support Reunions, and continue our charitable giving.

It is not too late to keep your SJCAA membership active, or to rejoin us. Dues are now payable on the calendar year, January 1 – December 31. This is in accordance with our corporate, non-profit status and accounting practices. We thank you for your membership and encourage you to submit your dues now, if you haven’t done so already, to be considered active for the year 2009. Remember that 2010 dues will be payable as of January 1, 2010. Suggested donations are $65 or $50.

If these amounts are a hardship, we understand. Any support is appreciated, and each contribution is tax deductable under our 501(c)(3) status. Thank you in advance for your continued support and generosity as we strive to keep alive our Alumnae Association and our “Valley friendships!” Be sure to contact us if you have any news or questions.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Nemetz Van Meter ’68
President
