Mary Mansfield Lehne
Class of '40

Mary Rose Mansfield Lehne, 92, died March 28, 2008 at Pin Oaks Nursing Home, Mexico, MO. She was born Feb. 3, 1916 in Waukegan, IL, to Joseph and Emma McMahon Mansfield. The family moved to Leaksville, NC in the 1920s. Mary graduated from SJC in 1940.

In 1947, she married Arthur G. Lehne and they and their daughter Alice Lehne Leonatti lived in several cities, including Chicago, New York, Dallas and St. Louis. In every place she resided, Mary played an active role in serving her family, church and community. Her volunteer activities included the United Way, Girl Scouts, school/parent organizations, and many church committees. She was a wonderful cook and her special desserts enhanced many family meals.

After her husband’s death in 1998, Mary moved to Mexico, MO to be closer to her daughter Alice and grandchildren. In addition to Alice, Mary is survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her brother, Ed Mansfield; and a nephew. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brendan’s School, 620 S. Clark, Mexico, MO 65265.
