Marie Gibbs Brennan-Bergmark
Class of '59

Marie Gibbs Brennan-Bergmark, 72 of North Farm, Bristol, RI, died peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John Bergmark and the late Edmund D. Brennan.

Born in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late W. Frank and Margaret (Maloney) Gibbs, Marie lived in Bristol for 11 years and Barrington, RI, for 25 years.

A customer service representative at Pitney-Bowes for 10 years, before retiring in 1998, Marie was a volunteer at the Barrington Tap-In and the C.A.S.A. She was a member of the Barrington Women’s Club and enjoyed playing bridge and sewing.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Caryn M. Farrell of Barrington; three Sons, Christopher M. Brennan of Haymarket, VA, Edward J. Brennan of Allentown, PA, and Kevin M. Brennan of Barrington; a brother; Robert F. Gibbs of Fredericksburg, VA; and twelve grandchildren. She was the sister of the late W. Frank Gibbs.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested contributions in Marie’s memory to the V.N.S. of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, 02871.
