Theresa Serge Meyer
Class of '55

Theresa Serge Meyer, 75, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Oct. 9, 2008, at Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, MD.

Born May 20, 1933, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Orris Serge and Marie Knox Serge.

After graduating from SJC in 1955, she taught at St. John Elementary School in Frederick, MD, and was later employed with Westat, also in Frederick. Theresa was a member of St. Ann Church, Hagerstown, and a 40-year parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church, Frederick, before moving to Hagerstown.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Catholic Golden Age. She also was very active in Girl Scouting as a leader and trainer for more than 25 years. and enjoyed being active in the Summerland Community.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George Charles Meyer; a daughter, Mary Meyer Kramer (Kurt); a son, Chuck Meyer (Vicki Hall); a sister, Celestina Bethel; and six grandchildren, Lisa and Julie Durgan, Nathan and Ryan Meyer, Tabatha Thornsberry, and Sabrina Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rita Hodges.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to Breast Cancer Awareness of the Cumberland Valley, 324 Antietam St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
