Mary Ann Eckert Powderly
Class of '61

Mary Ann Eckert Powderly of Irondequoit, NY, a member of the Class of 1961, died on March 10, 2009, in Irondequoit, NY. Born on July 21, 1939, she was the daughter of Anna Eckert and the late Joseph R. Eckert.

She graduated from Nazareth Academy, Rochester, NY, before attending, then graduating from SJC in 1961. During her career in education Mary Ann taught at St. Ambrose School, the Frederick Middle School, and the Jefferson Middle School in Rochester, NY, from which she retired.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Philip; daughter Kathleen Costello and her husband Terry; son Christopher and his wife Kimberly Miranda; three granddaughters, Kelsey, Michelle, and Taylor Powderly; sisters Catherine Eckert, Joan and her husband Larry Julien, and brother Paul and his wife Marsha Eckert.
