Sr. Teresa Ann Walsh, D.C.

Sr. Teresa Ann Walsh, D.C., an Instructor of Nursing at St. Joseph College, died January 6, 2010, at Villa Saint Michael, Emmitsburg, MD. She was 83.

After receiving her nursing degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, in 1953, Sr. Teresa Ann worked for more than 30 years as a nurse caring for mothers and children. She was an Instructor of Nursing at SJC, providing practicum experience for the students at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC.

In 1971, Sister Teresa Ann returned to nursing at Villa Louise in Timonium, MD, before becoming the maternity ward supervisor at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, MD. From 1976 to 1985 she worked as a nurse supervisor at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore. Sr. Teresa Ann’s was involved in ministry at St. Martin’s Parish, Baltimore, from 1990 to 1999, and she returned to the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, where she worked as the sacristan from 2000 to 2006. In 2006, she retired to Villa St. Michael.
